I've been in direct sales in management with Mary Kay for the past 14 years. Since moving to Florida 3 years ago from Connecticut, I became the State Captain for the Lee Iacocca Foundation, which raises funds to find a potential cure for Type 1 Diabetes. My fundraising idea was to start Charity Begins at Home Shows, where women could attend a home or office show, buy fun, trendy fashion jewelry in a relaxed atmosphere and make a contribution at the same time.
I donate all profits from show sales to the Iacocca Foundation to assist the researchers who are close to finding the cure for Juvenile Diabetes, which my 14 year old daughter, Laura, has dealt with for the past 5 years.
Within the next 5 years, my daughter and I hope to look back and say, "She used to have Diabetes."
